TASTE OF HUDSON RETURNS LABOR DAY WEEKEND
August 21, 2017 – Hudson, Ohio – A Taste of Hudson, Inc. is excited to bring the NEW Taste of Hudson back to downtown Hudson this Labor Day weekend. Set to take place on Sunday, September 3 and Monday, September 4, the Taste of Hudson will return after a year hiatus with a refreshed layout, non-stop family fun and many of the perennial favorites offering something for everyone.
Delicious sample sized tastes will be available on the culinary green at First & Main from area restaurants including: Aladdins, The Brew Kettle, Cilantro, Don Patron, Donato’s, FlipSide, Hudson’s Restaurant & Catering, Jaipur Junction, One Red Door, Peachtree Southern Kitchen & Cocktails, Rosewood Grill Hudson, the Rotary Clocktower Club and 3 Palms.
New for 2017 is the ability for guests step right up to each restaurant tent and pay for their purchases with cash or credit cards directly, replacing the previously used dining card system. Guests can enjoy their food in the PNC Community Dining Tents or dine alfresco at one of the many picnic or umbrella tables in the area.
It wouldn’t be the Taste of Hudson without the live music. More than 20 bands will be performing on 4 stages all weekend long and strolling musicians throughout the event. The Taste is a great place to catch your favorite local band.
The Akron Children’s Hospital Activities Green and Primrose School Stage will feature non-stop fun for all ages throughout the weekend. Courtesy of PPG, the Science Takes Flight Adventure Stations, Interactive Butterfly Exhibit and craft tent will be hot spots as well as the popular Little Tikes Land. Additional entertainment options sponsored by Merrill Lynch of Hudson includes face painting, balloon artists, and a special performance by Guinness Book of World Records holder, Dr. UR Awesome with his amazing bubble show. New this year will be a food booth courtesy of the Clocktower Rotary Club featuring kid friendly fare and the desirable ice cream treats!
Visit with more than 30 exhibitors and artists along the KeyBank Exhibitor Way and Artists Vineyard where you will find everything from household goods to clothing and spirit wear along with home improvement resources and service providers from around the community. Admire the beautifully hand-crafted items from local artists including jewelry, photography, wood working and more.
Cap it all off with the popular wine and beer garden presented by 3 Palms, featuring wine and beer tastings, additional options at the Day Ketterer full pour bars and the Bud Light Build A Bar. You won’t want to miss the Kaulig Capital Endless Happy Hour at the Stella Artois Airstream all weekend long! The wine and beer garden is open until 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 3 for a special concert series presented by the Miele Foundation with Jersey, the Bruce Springsteen Tribute Band and The Chozen Few performing on stage. Take a break from the action in the Suncrest Garden’s Relaxation Station or on the Goose Island Patio.
The Taste of Hudson is a benefit for Akron Children’s Hospital School Health Services and Hudson area non-profit organizations and has raised over $347,000 to date while being supported by more than 200 volunteers annually including a passionate organizing committee.
“We weren’t totally sure if taking a year off would affect the overall interest in the Taste of Hudson, but we have been delighted to receive tremendous support for the new event offerings and the new leadership from all our stakeholders including the City of Hudson and First & Main,” said Bob Liskiewicz, Taste of Hudson president.
Debra Sherman, executive director for the Taste of Hudson added, “The NEW Taste of Hudson will be a refreshed and refocused showcase of the best Hudson has to offer including some perennial favorites with a dash of new, fun exhibits for the entire family. It’s been an exciting journey and we can’t wait to share it with the community and celebrate over Labor Day weekend.”
